Import duties and taxes are charged by the country the parcel arrives in. We handle them in one of two ways, depending on the country. In both cases the price you pay at checkout is the price you pay.
| Country | Currency | Import duties & taxes | Shipping |
|---|---|---|---|
| Canada | CAD | None expected. We only sell orders up to 20 CAD (about the duty-free line). | Free |
| Australia | AUD | None expected. We only sell orders up to 1,000 AUD (about the duty-free line). | Free |
| Singapore | SGD | None expected. We only sell orders up to 400 SGD (about the duty-free line). | Free |
| Hong Kong | HKD | None charged. | Free |
| Taiwan | TWD | None expected. We only sell orders up to 2,000 TWD (about the duty-free line). | Free |
Countries where duties are included
For the United States, Germany, France and the United Kingdom we pay the import duty and the VAT or sales tax ahead of time and include them in the price. United States orders travel with DHL or FedEx on delivered-duty-paid terms; the other three are prepaid through the EU and UK import schemes. You pay nothing at the door. The tax rates we use are today’s published rates, and we adjust prices when they change.
Countries where we keep orders below the duty-free line
Some countries do not charge duty or tax on small parcels. For those countries we sell only items, and orders, that stay under the line. The cart stops you if the total goes over, so a big order is not split by accident into duty-bearing parcels.
These lines are set by each country’s customs office and can change. If customs charges you anyway, send us the notice at info@hiruandon.biz. Customs decisions are not ours to make, but we will look into each case.
Hong Kong
Hong Kong does not charge general import duty or VAT.
What we cannot promise
- A customs office can ask for extra paperwork, hold a parcel or reject our value.
- If you ask us to ship to an address in another country than the one you chose, the terms of the country on the parcel apply.
