1/72 Description The F-104J fighter was selected as the successor to the F-86F, which supported the founding period of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. Equipped with a powerful engine in a small and lightweight aircraft, it boasted high stability even at supersonic speeds exceeding Mach 2, and was nicknamed the “last manned fighter”. Although mainly produced domestically, a total of 210 aircraft including imported aircraft were deployed, and continued to carry out Japan’s air defense mission from the 1960s until 1986, when the F-15J was deployed. In the Self-Defense Forces, it was affectionately known as “Glory,” but now it is commonly called “Maruyon.” This kit is a completely new design using a new mold in 2025. Like the actual aircraft, the rear part of the aircraft can be attached and removed, making it possible to display the engine with the engine exposed. The fuselage is divided to match the panel lines, while the rear part is integrally molded, in pursuit of a stress-free and beautiful structure.
