Molding color: Brown/Black Description The Thompson M1/M1A1 is a submachine gun used by the US military during World War II, and uses the same 45 caliber bullet as the Government Pistol. The developer is John Thompson, a former US Army general. Having witnessed the fierce trench warfare of World War I, he believed there was a need for a one-man hand-held machine gun that could be called a “trench broom” that could fire barrages at close range, and developed the Thompson submachine gun series. The M1/M1A1 type is the most manufactured in the series, and is characterized by a structure that is thoroughly suited for mass production. It was adopted by the military in 1942 and was equipped by noncommissioned officers, tank crews, airborne soldiers, and scouts. This gun, which is used in various movies and works, has been made into a precise 1/12 scale kit. Reproduce the wood and metal parts with two molding colors.
